On April 26th and 27th, 2024, The Toledo Police Public Safety Cadets hosted the PSC 2024 Heart of Ohio Law Enforcement Competition. This two-day event drew PSC teams from throughout the state to compete in police related scenarios. The Toledo Police Public Safety Cadets is a program for young adults who are interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement. The program gives young adults a hands-on experience into law enforcement through specialized training, practical experiences, and community events. Public Safety Cadets learn about several aspects of law enforcement, including patrol operations and crime scene investigation. Cadets compete in police related scenarios at a state and national level. Cadets also participate at community service events and assist with various duties including traffic control, parking, and grounds security. The Toledo Police Foundation helped purchase boxed lunches and drinks for the initial Friday night gathering at Penta College in support of the Toledo Police Department and their commitment to the community.
